Born in the city of Shumen, Bulgaria, Birsen Ulucan started learning the piano at the age of seven. In 1984 she was admitted to the piano class of Ekaterina Tszetkova at the Dobri Hristov Music School in Varna.

    We welcome back Violin & Piano Duo Özcan Ulucan and Birsen Ulucan from Istanbul/Turkey for the their 3rd recital at St James’s. They return with an exciting programme of music by the 20th century Turkish composer Muammer Sun, the Austrian “New Viennese” composer Alban Berg and the Russian 20th century classic Sergei Prokofiev.
