Breastplate will be displayed behind the altar of the Side Chapel and lit from below so that it glows from within, thereby revealing its feather-filled fragility and the talismanic contents of its pockets.

Any event held at St James Piccadilly is steeped in history, with easy access to the rest of the West End, Soho, and Mayfair.
St James’s Church Piccadilly is a beautiful and dramatic venue for concerts in London. The church has a rich cultural history including Mary Beale, William Blake, Ottobah Cugoano and Haydn as well as music concerts by Adele, Bronski Beat, Biffy Clyro, Patti Smith, REM and Emeli Sandé more recently.
The church is a particularly special music concert location. Designed by Christopher Wren, the architecture is simple yet beautifully proportioned with clear glass windows that flood the space with dappled light. There are wooden galleries on three sides. At the back of the church, there is a magnificent organ. All of which makes for a beautiful and dramatic event space for hire.
William Blake was baptised here and the Church has historic musical associations with Handel, Purcell, Haydn, Mendelssohn, the pianist Therese Jansen and Leopold Stokowski.
Seated capacity of 450. The maximum capacity of the church is 500 (including performers, staff and audience). The concert performance area can comfortably accommodate 60 musicians; larger groups may also be possible. Venue hire bookings can be made up to two years in advance.
